Mammia Breast Shield Adapter for Hands-Free Breast Pump

In short: the Mammia breast shield adapter is a silicone cushion that fits inside the breast shield of a Mammia hands-free breast pump to reduce its opening. It comes in 5 diameters, 15, 17, 19, 21 and 25 mm, to be chosen according to nipple size. A spare part to adjust pumping comfort.

Why does breast shield size matter?

A breast shield that is too wide or too narrow can make pumping uncomfortable. Breastfeeding professionals advise that the nipple should move freely in the tunnel without rubbing the walls. The adapter lets you adjust the opening on Mammia breast pumps.

• 5 diameters to choose from: 15, 17, 19, 21 and 25 mm.
• Silicone cushion, according to the product image.

How to choose the adapter size

1. Measure the diameter of the base of the nipple, without the areola.
2. Compare it with the available diameters, from 15 to 25 mm, and keep the one that lets the nipple move freely without rubbing.
3. Place the adapter in the breast shield following the pump leaflet.
4. If you feel discomfort or pain, try another size or ask a midwife or lactation consultant.

Care and complementary parts

Clean the part before first use and after each session following the pump leaflet, and replace it if it wears or deforms. To renew other parts, see the Mammia spare valves or the 25 mm silicone cushion.
